wasp & fig's ethos
the fig wasp makes its home within the belly of figs, to pollenate and repopulate. it does so, knowing it will likely not emerge as the same creature. may we all follow this example, leaving behind the harmful ideologies and practices we've all been raised in so that the fruits of liberation can grow. and may we all emerge as new selves, committed to a future free of oppression and systemic violence.

"I've had the pleasure of working with Von for the last three years. His presence, dedication, and expertise were instrumental in furthering our school's institutional and community efforts to build equity and belonging with regard to gender and sexuality. He helped us through our school's all-gender housing pilot from the brainstorming to the implementation phases. Von's approach is practical, research-based, strategic, and community-focused. He honors the importance of this work while acknowledging its nuance and complexity. He is also a fantastic workshop facilitator for adults and students at different points in their social justice journey. If you work with Von, you'll get a partner in building an even more informed, caring, and supportive organization. He is simply amazing!"
- Diku Rogers, DEI Director at Peddie School

"Von is an absolute treasure. We approached him to ask for knowledge-sharing around running a diversity and inclusion scholarship program for our in-person technology event. He generously made time to impart oodles of sage advice around everything from how to structure your nomination form, to how to perform the vetting process in a way that centres folks who truly need it, to how to ensure scholarship applicants have an awesome experience both at the event and beyond. In so doing, Von raised awareness of SO many aspects we had not previously considered. He is incredibly thoughtful, intentional, and extremely well-informed. Thanks again so much for all of your help!"
- Angie Byron, Lead, Community Programs at MongoDB

"It was one of those spaces where you can feel yourself learning and one doesn’t have to be afraid to ask questions because you know that your interest would be affirmed and supported. Perfect, best thing since jam on toast 10/10."
